Our work has expanded, and now details the dramatic toll taken on the lives of women, children and families in nine countries around the world. Zimbabwe

Key partnerships between family planning organizations and reproductive health organizations focused on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment have been severed in Zimbabwe.

Zambia

The leading family planning NGO in Zambia lost more than 24 percent of its funding, forcing cutbacks in reproductive health services across the board.

Tanzania

NGOs in Tanzania are struggling just to sustain current levels of service since refusing the terms of the gag rule; meanwhile, demand for supplies and services is ever increasing.

Kenya

The two most prominent family planning providers in Kenya have closed clinics, scaled back family planning services, cut nearly one-third of their staff, and raised client fees.

Ethiopia

Beyond severe financial losses, the gag rule has resulted in the loss of technical assistance and contraceptive donations to key NGOs in Ethiopia, worsening the country's supply shortage.

Ghana

By preventing regional partnerships, the gag rule is crippling efforts in Ghana to address reproductive health and HIV/AIDS in a coordinated and effective manner.

Romania

The gag rule has made it more difficult for women in Romania to obtain contraceptive information and services.

Nepal

The gag rule conflicts with the Nepalese government's efforts to address a major public health crisis by hindering its ability to follow through on democratically supported legal change.
