Our Partners
For much of the last 20 years, PAI has been providing small, but targeted and multi-year advocacy small grants to both developed and developing partners. These grants have often provided the only unrestricted sources of support for advocacy work of an institution, and we have seen many of our grantees establish permanent policy and advocacy programs based on their relationship to PAI.
The following are just a few examples of our partners, who have been able to affect change in their own ways – whether from the national, regional or global perspective – and who have contributed greatly to the dialogue about improving sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Equidad De Género: Ciudadanía Trabajo y Familia
Location: Mexico City, Mexico

Mission: Contribute to an active and participatory democracy by means of developing and strengthening women leaders and promoting the appropriation of rights, transparency and the rule of law.
Activities supported through PAI grants:
- To promote equity within families and the formation of a positive public opinion in regards to family diversity while preventing setbacks to women’s rights
- To increase the dialogue on family diversity in Mexico in order to counteract the conservative doctrine that poses a threat to sexual and reproductive rights
- To strengthen national budget analysis from a gender perspective to include and provide funding for the promotion of sexual and reproductive rights among Mexican youth
- To train women leaders in gender and ICPD-related public budget monitoring at federal, state and municipal levels

Mission: Aims to ensure that the sexual and reproductive rights of all young people are respected, guaranteed and promoted, and strives to secure the meaningful participation of young people in decision-making that affects their lives, by advocating, generating knowledge, sharing information, building partnerships and training young activists with a focus on the regional and international levels.
Activities supported through PAI grants:
- To host trainings in the Caribbean and Pacific region with the goal of targeting vulnerable and neglected youth populations to generate awareness and knowledge about young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights
- To support the YC’s move towards organizational independence
Family Planning International – New Zealand

Mission: Works to promote a positive view of sexuality aims to help people make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health. As the needs of New Zealanders have changed over generations, so have the services FPI offers, and the issues with which they are involved.
Activities supported through PAI grants:
- To conduct information for a regional reproductive risk index on the state of sexual and reproductive health in the Pacific region; includes communications and advocacy messages to support the index
- To host a Pacific regional seminar on advocacy aiming for a comprehensive effort to strengthen regional support for sexual and reproductive health
- To conduct a needs assessment or “stock-take analysis” of advocacy skills and needs among Pacific Island organizations working in relation to ICPD goals
- To facilitate support for the ICPD goals at regional and international conferences in support for+ sexual and reproductive health
